Saturday Night Sugar Fest

I wanted to share a recipe with everyone.....but it comes with a warning.  These are so deadly sweet and delicious.  Don't be scared by the ingredients, trust me, you will want to make these over and over and over again.  Thanks Pioneer Woman, you rock.

Apple Dumplings

2 Granny Smith apples
2 cans of crescent rolls
2 sticks of butter (unsalted)
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
cinnamon
1 small can of Mountain Dew or Sprite (8 oz.)

* Peal and core apples.  Cut apples into 8 slices each.  Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll.  Place in a 9x13 buttered pan.  Melt butter in a small pan then add sugar and barely stir.  Add vanilla, stir and pour over apples.  Pour soda around the edges of the pan.  Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and bake at 350 for 40 minutes.  Serve with vanilla ice cream or Cool Whip.  Spoon some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top.  Enjoy.  Go into a sugar coma.

If you try these let me know what you think.  They were a huge hit last night at my house!

Our House

I know that I am the bigger slacker at blogging.  I have a myriad of excuses, but I'm not going to list them so that I can post instead cause who knows when this will happen again!  For this post I decided to put up some pictures of our house in Arizona.  Danny and I moved to Arizona 9 months ago for a great job for me at Phoenix Children's Hospital.  Luck for us, the market was terrible for sellers so we scored a sweet deal on our first house.

4th of July

4th of July was another fun day for us. We got up HECKA early and went to the park to save a pavillion, which was first come first serve. The night before we spent some time preparing food; marinating chicken and hot dogs, making potato salad and soaking sticky rice. We brought our BBQ and so did Danny's brother Frisco. We had lots of Danny's family there and everyone pitched in for a wonderful BBQ and fireworks show. We also listened to music, played tennis and took naps. The pictures below are of Danny and his niece Tiana Rae, awesome fireworks and what I like to call "Rings Of Fire".

Honeymoon In Vegas

These are pictures from our honeymoon in Las Vegas. Thanks to my friend Jenn, we had a great place to stay right outside of downtown! We relaxed, shopped and went out at night and had some fun walking around the Vegas strip. It was a good few days off of work to just enjoy each other. We both LOVE Vegas and would love to go back for another visit anytime soon.

Finally....A New Post

Ok, Ok,Ok.... I know that I am a terrible blogger. Oh well. Everyone add it to the short list of things I don't do well. Blog, Email and Diet. Anywho. Below are a few favorite pictures from our wedding which was April 11, 2008. It was a beautiful, chilly April day. We had tons of fun at the reception which was full of food, fun, laughter, music, dance and a few tears. Danny and I spent a night in Park City in a super cool suite and then headed off to Las Vegas for a few days of fun and relaxation. It's been fun being married these past four months. We continue to learn, change, and grow together everyday. It's been one crazy adventure!

Engagement Photos

These are my favorite photos from our engagement shoot last Saturday! We picked the one on the right as our invitation photo. Shannon did a great job getting Danny to feel comfortable and smile. It was a cold day, but the overcast sky was perfect for taking pictures. I think when it gets a little warmer we'll do another shoot. Thanks again to Shannon for a job well done! We love you.

I'm Engaged!

So it's official! Danny and I are engaged. He proposed to me on Tuesday night at my parents house. He and I had gone to talk to my mom so he could ask for her blessing. We had a great conversation with her and afterwards he wanted to show her the ring he had made for me. So my mom and stepdad were looking at the ring and I was looking the other way. As soon as Danny had shut the box I looked at him and he got down on one knee. I was extremely shocked. For starters, I looked totally ghetto. Sweats, hair pulled back, no makeup. And I was expecting him to proposed around Christmas or something like that because it's his favorite holiday. He had kept it a secret from everyone. So he said all kinds of really special things to me and then asked me to marry him to which I was more than happy to say YES! We have set a date of April 25th in the Salt Lake City Temple. The picture is of my beautiful ring. Like I mentioned earlier, he custom desinged the ring for me and he gave me all the sketchings and drawings he had worked on. Danny is amazing and I can't wait to marry this man!
